Principal's Message

Welcome to Wilson Elementary School! We hope you had a great summer and are ready to start the new school year. The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 22.

The mission of Wilson Elementary is to inspire children through personal relationships to achieve their academic potential by providing effective instruction with appropriate interventions. We are very proud of our staff and students and are excited to share our vision of educating children to achieve academic, social, and emotional success.

As in previous years, there will be a Take Home Folder sent home each Thursday. It will contain graded work and other important information. A parent newsletter will be available on-line at the first of each month. It will contain monthly events, school news, and will spotlight campus programs. If your email address is on file, you will receive emails about important information.

Please remember to follow our traffic patterns for drop off and pick up.   All students who eat breakfast will be dropped off at the front of the building (make loop in parking area).  Also, all students who are single riders will be dropped off and picked up at the front of the building.  All parents who drop off and pick up more than one student will go straight and pick up on the side of the building along the one way drive beside the baseball fields. Please do not stop at the crosswalk; pull all the way down to the back of the building.

Classes begin each morning at 8:05 a.m.  Please be sure your child is dropped off before this time to allow the student travel time to their classroom.  The tardy bell rings at 8:15 a.m. Students should be in their classroom before this time. Our afternoon release bell is at 3:45 p.m.

Also, I encourage you to stay involved by joining the Wilson PTO and Watch Dogs. We love to have parents in our building helping both staff and students. Thank you for sharing your child with us.  We look forward to a successful school year.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or the school office at 972-427-6040.
